Siloé Statement of Faith

  1. The Holy Scriptures: We believe the Bible, in its entirety, is the divinely inspired and inerrant Word of God, the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.

  2. The Godhead: We believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three are coequal and coeternal.

  3. The Person and Work of Jesus Christ: We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, atoning death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His personal return in power and glory. We believe that Jesus Christ is wholly sufficient in all aspects of our salvation and spiritual life. No addition to His work is needed; Christ alone is our hope, strength, and the ultimate source of all truth and wisdom.

  4. Salvation: We believe that salvation is a gift from God, received through faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. All who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood and are born again by the Holy Spirit into the family of God.

  5. The Work of The Holy Spirit: We believe in the present and ongoing ministry of the Holy Spirit, who actively convicts, regenerates, indwells, and empowers believers, enabling them to live a godly and abundant life and equipping them for service.

  6. The Church: We believe that the Church, the body of Christ, consists of all true believers, irrespective of denominational affiliations. The Church is commissioned to spread the gospel to all nations, making disciples, baptizing, and teaching them to obey all of Christ’s commands.

  7. Human Condition: We believe that all people are created in the image of God but are marred by sin, which separates them from God. Without turning to Jesus Christ in faith, humanity remains lost and without hope.

  8. Eternity: We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: the saved unto eternal life in the presence of God, and the lost unto eternal separation from God.

  9. Christian Living: We believe that every Christian should live a life that reflects obedience to the Word of God, demonstrating love for God and neighbor, exhibiting the fruit of the Spirit, and seeking to advance the Kingdom of God on earth.

  10. Unity in Essentials: While our statement of faith represents core evangelical beliefs, in matters not addressed, we seek to demonstrate grace, knowing that God’s wisdom is greater than ours, and His ways are beyond our comprehension.
